@START !! H Y P E R T E X T (C) C.Z. 2/94 !! ---------------------------------------------------------------- 14.03.1999 This VEDIT macro makes it possible to work with an ASCII text as hypertext. (Help with Shift-F1) The following text is a try to show some(!) possibilities. I hope you can understand what it should be for :-) To do that you can set links in the text with Shift-F5 while the cursor is on the word what should become the link. The word gets a frame of [] then and a new entry with the additional infos for that link are created as follows: @WORT ***** (at line begin!). As an example see the entry "@START" in the first line. If there is already existing an entry with that name there will be not another one created off course. The names are case insensitive. If the cursor is now placed on such a link, you can press F12 to jump to the appropriate entry. (Since VEDIT 6.04.1: Or with a double click on the link.) Please try: [continue] You can see: it's all plain text.... [AndNow] <- here it's going on @continue ******************************************************************* Here is the text of "continue". Back with F11. (7 levels back possible) (since VEDIT 6.04.1: Or with a double click on empty space) @AndNow ********************************************************************* For easier navigation there are: previous entry next entry actual key assignments see with Shift-F1 ! previous link next link And you can set an position marker and jump back to it later. With Shift-F6 it's possible to delete the whole entry on which the cursor actually is(!). All links to that entry are deactivated too (The [] are removed.) Shift-F9 inserts the date (in dd.mm.yyyy format). Nice within a [Logbuch]. The many empty lines in this exapmle are only for optical purposes. Printing is possible too. The whole text or the actual entry. Every entry gets its own print page. One another interesting feature you can see here [Files] Or to a little [Menu] Or the [HTML] feature @HTML *********************************************************************** You can create a HTML document from such a hypertext file. See Shift-F1 for key assignment. (Default: Alt-F9) That one you can use with Netscape or so. This way I'm creating some online doku for users. @Files ********************************************************************** With Alt-F10 it's easy to load another file (Default: *.HTX) into VEDIT. Or you can load files via links: e.g. : {C:\CONFIG.SYS} ( Attention please! ) or: {C:\VEDIT\USER-MAC\HYPERTXT.VDM} or: {D:\VEDIT\USER-MAC\HYPERTXT.VDM} Just place the cursor on such a link and press F12. So you are able to build big text and file structures. See here too [MENU] @MENU *********************************************************************** A small menu: ------------- [Notices] [PC] [Telephone] To the beginning of this document (There is the entry of ---> [START] ) @Telephone ******************************************************************** Otto 0231/ 123456 Willi 0231/ 654123 !! my girlfriend 01234 / 56789 ...
