In V-Dos there was an easy way to re-use a file name in the file-open dialog box by simply pressing the up arrow - a very useful feature for developing macros, which implies many cycles of editing and testing macro code (at least if one's programming abilities are less than optimal:) ).

In V-Win this feature seems to be defunct, apparently as a consequence of adhering to the windows standard very closely.

Is there any way to restore it?

Fritz

Please try [Cursor down] in the File-Open-Dialog.
If the focus is in the filename-input-box (default), there will be a history of opened files. This feature only works within a single Vedit session and isn't saved when closing Vedit.

Please note that this "history" only works in the {FILE, Open}
dialog box, it does not in other file selection dialog boxes.
It is not a normal part of Windows "file open" dialog boxes and
it was very difficult and tedious (for Tom Burt) to implement
"history".

I noticed under Win2000 that the File-open dialog box in Notepad
has history. Therefore, it must now be a built-in option. However
the history does not seem to respond to Cursor up/down and therefore
is not very well implemented.
