The "Display long lines with word wrap" toolbar button and "VIEW, Word wrap (display)" activate Word wrap, but also forces "Show newlines (CR/LF)" on.

I find this a nuisance, as I often want to look at files with long lines, but rarely care where the newlines are.
The displayed characters are a nuisance, and make the text harder to read.

I am not sure of the reason for combining these 2 functions, but it finally annoyed me enough to write my own keystroke macro.

The first attempt [MENU]VW [MENU]VOS did not work, as the first command toggles 2 values.

When I realised {CONFIG, Word processing} "Display lines with word wrap" works, it was easy to assign the keystroke macro:-
[VISUAL EXIT] CF(D_DSP_WRAP,!CF(D_DSP_WRAP))
to toggle Word wrap.

Incidentally ALL of these toggle the state of the toolbar button.

I would prefer the toolbar button to only change word wrap, and to have a separate toolbar button to Show newlines (like Word).

Ian:

I agree that they should be separate and will change that soon.

Ted.
