I think it would be useful to show the file date and time in the Status Display.
Maybe both the original date (before the file was opened to Vedit) and the current date (in case you have saved the file while editing).

Further, I think the Status Display should be reorganized to be clearer.
The general items could be separated from the items related to current file.
For example as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------------
Current File:
Input file: c:\txt\let\example.let
Output file: c:\txt\let\example.let
Output file size: 706
Input file date: 2007-09-08 17:32:10
Last saved at: 2007-09-09 11:16:22
Syntax file: ((none))
Template file ((none))
General:
Current directory: c:\txt\let
Used in T-Regs: 1234
Date: 2007-09-07
Time: 11:20:45
----------------------------------------------------------------

Some separator lines and colors could make the display clearer, too.

In addition, there is a problem with long pathnames.
If the filename/path is long, you can scroll the status display. However, you can not scroll enough.
When the window is fully scrolled to the right, a few characters at the end of filename are still not visible.
