It includes many of the bug fixes and macro language enhancements that have been discussed here recently. See the whatsnew.txt file:

Thanks Ted.

1. I did not find VEDIT.EXE in the .zip file, which I just downloaded.

2. I was unable to read my disk sectors with VEDIT_611.EXE.
First I thought this was due to the facr that I am using FAT32. Now the 6.12 version will be able to read my FAT32 sectors?

Looking forward to using Version 6.12.

I currently don't plan to include the DOS version in the 6.12 release.

If I make it available at all, it will as a completed UNSUPPORTED product. That means no support, no questions about it will be answered etc. NONE!

Sorry, but I just want to stop supporting the DOS version.

Ted.

I loaded Vedit 6.12.1 03/28/04, I am running Windows XP SP1.

The undo seems to be fixed (more extensive testing to follow) but there is a problem with Help.

Help Command at Cursor wants to reindex each time, and then displays an error message that it is unable to display the Find tab.

I cannot replicate your help problem with any version of Windows. My simple test was to type "Buf_Switch()", moving the cursor back to the command and
selecting {HELP, Command at cursor}. It worked fine.

I would suggest rebooting and trying it again. Please let me know if anyone else can replicate this.

Ted.

I had already rebooted, and the problem could be produced by manually opening the veditpw.hlp file and selecting the Search tab.

I was going to re-load Vedit, but noticed that the veditpw.GID file was much smaller than the previous, so I deleted it, and when Windows re-created it the problem is solved.

Sorry for the red herring.
