Hi,

Attached is v2 of my projlog.vdm, which gives you a separate mynotes type file for each project.

It saves and restores cur_pos, block begin & end, and also all 10 possible text markers.

It uses my clever & useful (IMHO) submacro userini.vdm which allows any macro to read and write to an common user.ini file easily. See enclosed userini.txt for instructions on how to use.

I uploaded it several months back, but it failed to generate any enthusiasm, hopefully seeing it used in a real world macro will help. (yeah I know and pigs will fly).

Feedback on projlog v2.0 appreciated.

Thank you.

Scott

Hi Scott,

I tried to download this macro of yours, but did not succeed.

I left double click on the icon and got a message on the lower left corner of my Firefox browser saying "waiting for webboard ....". But nothing happens.

I tried to download your Dashboard macro and no problems.

So, I wonder is this my browser or is it webboard ?

Thanks,

-peter

Hi Peter, I can download it with no problems using Internet Explorer.

Thanks Scott,

I did get it at my gmail address.

I am sending this email from School and I have also tried to download it from School. I did succeed in a roundabout way.

Now I see my problem. I would need a Dashboard for my FireFox browser. Too bad that you are using Internet Explorer, say this is not your cup of tea.

Here are the details. In Firefox 3.6.13, when I left double click on the ,zip icon, I get a dialog box, offering the options of saving to disk or opening it.

If I choose the save to disk, I get an error message saying that ....unidentified error occurred, try to save it to a different location. But I could not find any location.

So I choose the other option. Open it ...
In short when FireFox calls my unzip utility, I can extract the files and save them.

This error messaage may or may not be related to the
"Can not save file, it is locked by another program" on which you reported elsewhere.

Anyway, it did work out.

Thanks,

-peter

Ted,

At 12:55 PM 7/17/2011, you wrote:

ur_pos, etc. would be saved in the VEDIT projects directory as e>.ini.

.ini would be misleading, one might think it wou
ld contain project settings while it really is just project notes setting.

If the file is saved in project directory, it could be named with
fixed name, such as projlog.ini.

I will discuss other details in anoth
er mail.
