Thanks Fritz and Ted,
for answering my questions on such a nice Sunday afternoon! I carried over Fritz's suggestions to my equation re numbering macro. Now I can handle negative equation numbers as well. (This of course, is only a precaution. But, yesterday somehow I ended up with negative numbers and I had to remove them manually.)
My equation re numbering macro is an adaptation of Fritz's Numeric Evaluation macro on this webboard, read_2521,30.html. (This is where the reference to Fritz's colleague with pagination problems is.) So I went back to
his macro and copied the following line:
#10=numeval(suppress+advance)
Now I realize that my problems originated from the "suppress" option and so, I have removed it. I also removed the the "advance" option, as per Fritz's suggestion.
I take Fritz has long forgotten about his
Numeric Evaluation macro.
