How do you configure vedit to support hex editing in 16 byte lines instead of a line that continues until it finds 0x0d or 0x0a

The first time you select {VIEW, Toggle hex-mode split}, you get
split hex and ASCII windows. Selected again, it temporarily
changes the file type to "16" for easier editing, as you requested.
Selected again, it toggles back to the original window and file
type.

Alternatively, or with older versions of VEDIT, you can set {CONFIG,
File handling, File type} to "16".
