Hello,

When using non-persistent blocks, on RMC the cursor moves to
the mouse pointer and the text gets deselected which makes contextual
menu unusable (for the original purpose). OTOH there's no problem if
one uses shortcuts, toolbar or menu. I think it's rather uncommon in
Windows-lore to have the cursor moved on RMC, is there any advantage
to it?

I agree. That seems to be a bug.

Some context menu entries are more intuitive/convenient then (IMHO):
For example:
- Delete char/block
- Erase line
- Open file/URL at cursor

BTW: Ted: "Delete block" doesn't work via context menu!
It always performs a "delete char"

What is RMC?

Works OK here VEDIT (32-Bit) Ver. 6.13.1 07/14/04

Of course the cursor has to be inside the block, as is normal for Vedit.

"Right Mouse Click".

Still not working here.
That may be dependent on a configuration option. I'll try to find
out...

Here it is:

I've set {Config, Emulation, Special emulation mode} to 64:

Mask 64 [DELETE] doesn't ever delete a marked (highlighted) block.
Blocks can always be deleted with {BLOCK, Delete blocks}.

That shows that the context menu command simply performs a [DELETE].
And so the behavior is understandable.

I will check into this in a few weeks. Sorry for the delay.

We have several big opportunities to license our anti-spam system to other companies (even apparent competitors), but we must first rewrite our predominate Perl code into all-C code. I am doing much of this and will be busy for several weeks.

If you use persistent blocks, then Vedit behaves the same as Word.

Yes, but the RMC should work even without persistent blocks.
I consider it a bug and it will be fixed (in a few weeks).

I fixed this today; therefore it will work correctly in any .exe dated 01/07/2005 or later.

It is surprising that no one reported this earlier; I guess most people use persistent blocks.
