I have a recurring problem (bug) with Vedit involving pasting the clipboard into a line, when the line is wrapped as a "continuation" line (with the continuation character at the beginning of the line).
If you paste into the LAST virtual line of a continuation line (the line is the FINAL line with a "-" in column 1), and the paste causes the line to continue onto a new continuation line (an extra added continuation line now which should have a "-" in column 1), the screen display gets corrupted, with the added line not reading correctly, and not having a "-" in column 1. This is remedied by paging down and then up, getting the screen to refresh.
I always use continuation lines for editing stuff like HTML, and find it better than standard word wrap. This bug, although I'm kind of used to it now, can be pretty startling and confusing.
I'm using Vedit 32-bit, ver 6.13.1, 01/25/05 date. Windows XP, sp2. I think it does this under all Windows versions and I think the bug has been there for awhile. I just haven't figured out its exact description till now.
My significant settings from the Config screen:
Word Processing:
Display lines with wordwrap: unchecked
Enable word wrap: unchecked
Display Options:
Horizontal Scroll margin: 1 (this is the important setting)
Horizontal scroll increment: 20
