With VEDIT 6.12.1 05/24/2004 under Win 2K Pro, Dir_Date() does not append "\" to long directory names (>8 characters, but I haven't checked thoroughly). Dir() does append "\" as expected, and Dir_Date() does append "\" to the short version.

It's fixed since 6.12.2 06/19/2004

How does one get this latest update? The 5/24/2004 one is the one that is available at www.vedit.com.

Usually (since some weeks or months) Ted let us download the newest
executable here from time to time:

http://www.vedit.com/download/vpw.exe

(For example please read the thread "Reading keyboard shift status"
above.)

But be prepared: That are no official released files!!!
Personally I would name it "public beta" or so.

Thanks for this information. The shift status link is interesting, too.

I tried this web address and I got an error message.

VEDIT 6.13 is still a beta and can be downloaded from:

http://www.vedit.com/download/beta/vw-pro64.exe

I tried that link and it is good.

I think that version has the Dir_Date() fix you are looking for.

We moved all of our websites last week and it took a while to get all the links and functions to work.

Ted.

Thanks Ted,

I did succeed in downloading it. It works like a charm.
