You may want to try out the attached ones for sh and bash.

Christian

BASH(1).SYN (2KB)

SH.SYN (2KB)

Thank you for sharing them, I will include in 6.20.

Ted.

Olivier and Christian:

A simple uninformed question:

Will I have the option to "shell out to unix" using these macros in my forthcoming Vedit 6.20 for windows program?

In other words, will I have the option to ftp from my office computer to my unix account and then "shell out". For example to compile my manuscript running the unix version of Tex?

In spite of the extensive discussion about the new ftp feature of Vedit 6.2, it looks like black magic to me.

Thanks,

-peter rejto.

No, the ftp protocol does not "shell out"; it only transfers files.

To learn about ftp (under Windows) you can start with the built-in "ftp" command. Or try a program like WS_Ftp.

What you want to do can be done; I am always logged into several Linux machines. The free "Putty" program is a good start:

We won't discuss the basics of ftp here; VEDIT assumes you know what ftp is.

Thanks, I did it. It is nice indeed!

Thanks, I shall start studying it right away.

Peter:

Since this technical discussion about FTP has nothing to do with Color syntax I moved the rest of this thread to

"File transfers via FTP etc"

in the "Other (not related to Vedit)" conference.
