When I used vedit on W2K the escape characters had "esc" in the window. Now on XP, there is an arrow. I copied my setting from W2K onto XP with no change. Are there any other characters issues on XP?

The small "esc" is only in the "VEDIT Ansi" and "VEDIT OEM" fonts. Therefore, select the desired font with {VIEW, Font}. I don't know how you ended up with another font as the "VEDIT Ansi" is the default.

Did you completely re-install VEDIT or just try to copy the files?

Ted.

My font was set for ansi. I changed it to oem and the esc came back.

Changing the font also effected my blocking issue, which I posted under "Basic editing, Block operations". I updated my comments there.
