I normally have Vedit running.

When I want to view/edit a file I select this from my file manager (ZTreeWin).

I have Instance control 1 to open in the existing instance of VEDIT.

With the current beta (VEDIT (32-Bit) Ver. 6.15.1 02/01/06) this seems slow.

A blank Vedit window comes up for some 5 or so seconds, before closing and transferring to the open instance.

This happens, even with small files (~10k).
Previously this seemed to be almost instantaneous.

Has there been any change in Vedit, or is my memory faulty?

I have never seen such a long delay; it is always instanteous.
VEDIT has not changed in this area from 6.13 to 6.15.

I suspect your computer is having problems. Try rebooting it.

Ted.

No such problem here (same Vedit version, Windows 2000).

The only delay I sometimes see is this one:
I have a shortcut set for the VEDIT link on my desktop. So I'm able to startup Vedit with a key-combo.
And that sometimes is very slow (5 seconds?). And the Windows taskbar is frozen during these seconds.

Probably unrelated...
