The new directory structure seems not to be quite ready yet.

I installed Vedit 6.20.2 into a new directory.
For testing, I selected different directories for Vedit Home directory and User Home directory.

After installing, the projects tab in File Selector was empty. There was no "VEDIT Doco" project.
It appears that:
- There is a "projects" directory both in HOME directory and in USER_HOME directory.
- The file "VEDIT Doco.prj" is in HOME\projects directory only.
- The config string PROJECT_DIR points to the project directory under USER_HOME directory. Any new projects are added there and they are visible in Projects tab.

In addition, there is user-mac directory both in HOME directory and in USER_HOME directory. The one in HOME directory is empty.

The syntax directory is under HOME directory. This means that if the user does not have write access to HOME directory, he can not edit or add syntax files.

By the way, on the default file type specific configuration for .VDM files (vdm.cft), the syntax file is set to "c.syn".
It should be vedit.syn, of course.

Thank you for the feedback. I need to study it carefully.

The "VEDIT Doco.prj" should be in USER_HOME\projects.

I see no purpose for a HOME\projects directory.
I save ALL files somewhere under HOME so that I can create a new USER_HOME structure for a new user. I haven't implement that test and macro yet, but I will soon.

I'll have to check that too.

OK, I will switch the active syntax directory to USER_HOME.

I'll fix that too.

==================

Pauli, I sent you and Christian an email around June 24 with a proposal for implementing your requested Project directory, but never got a reply. I wanted to be sure I fully understood your request before implementing it.

Thank you.

Ted.
